Disabling AI

I am using Progress version 10.1B03

We have been running AI, for many years. I usually bring down the database and then stop AI, to reset my target.

Is there a way to shutdown AI, while the database is in multi-user mode. I can then reset my target and start the AI back up with the on-line backup.

Are you running OE Replication? Or do you mean something else by "target"?

Starting on Porgress 9.1D, a new rfutil option, aioff, was introduced to disable after-imaging online:
$ rfutil dbname -C aimage aioff

Why does this require you to stop AI?
