diff between progress 9.1D AND 9.1E

I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS EXACT DIFF BETWEEN THE 2 VERSIONS OF PROGRESS.

9.1D AND 9.1E

9.1D is NOT supported, 9.1E IS supported.

That is really the only difference you need to know although as far as i can remember actual differences would be mainly bug fixes.

They might answer your question beyond the fact that everything before 9.1E is unsupported and I would even urge you to ugrade to a more recent version of OpenEdge 10.

9.1E service pack 4 is the last and only supported release of Progress version 9.

Innumerable bugs were fixed between 9.1D and 9.1E04 (there were 13 service packs). There were also some very nice enhancements added (see the afore-mentioned release notes) and 4GL performance was greatly improved along the way (25% or more faster).

Here it goes ...

Progress V9 is ancient - in it's nucleus it's more than 10 year old technology, whereas OpenEdge 10 is the latest (state-of-the-art) technology. How the product has evolved over the last 10 years is beyond the scope of this forum, IMHO.

Pls, don't get mad at me, but your question, to me, sounds like the same if somebody would ask me "What is the difference between Windows Vista and Windows ME?". My answer would be - dump Windows ME, get rid of it as soon as you can!
