Question Couple Of Replication Questions

I am sure I know what the answer is to these but I'm doubting myself.

1. If I update VSTs on the source will it effect replication? Will I still need to update VSTs on the target?
2. Will changing the AI Block size affect replication?

When you say update VSTs you mean using updatevst?

As far as I know both 1 and 2 require you to restart replication with a new backup.
