Overall Accountability:

Under the guidance of the Project Manager, the Programmer Analyst is responsible for development, basic testing and trouble-shooting of code as well as for analysis and design for assignments of simple to medium complexity (PA-2).

Competencies
CRITICAL

• Progress programming in Unix environment (2 to 4 years experience)
• Experience developing in Java/JSP (2 to 4 years)
• Troubleshooting of code
• Documentation
• Windows NT/MS-Office
• Very good written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively in a positive manner with peers, supervisors and DST clients
• Full project life cycle implementation
• Initiative – Takes independent action and goes beyond what the job or situation requires
• Analytical / Systematic – Takes a well-ordered and logical approach to analyzing problems, organizing work and planning action
• Adaptable – Reacts and adjusts positively to change and to new ways of doing things
• Team worker – able to work in team environment
• Able to work to tight deadlines
• Eager to share knowledge and experience

BENEFICAL

• QA testing procedures
• Experience on mutual fund or financial services applications
• Knowledge of analysis and design tools
