Can't compile HTML files.

JamesBowen

19+ years progress programming and still learning.
I am getting the following error message every time I try and save a .html file within OE AppBuilder 10.1b. The html file is being saved but not compiled.

So I uninstall OE and deleted the DLC directory, reinstalled hoping to fix the problem. As far as I can tell the "e4gl-gen.p file is inside a PL file.

Does any body know How to fix this?

Strange....

Never had that one.
I was thinking maybe you are using remote development?

Thanks Casper for getting back to me.

The answer to your query is no I am not in remote mode. I have never managed to get that part of the Webspeed Workshop working.

However I re-traced my steps and the problem happens after I install ABHack.
Now I've be using AB Hack for ages now so I don't understand why this has become a problem?

James.

I take it back. ABHack is not the problem!

The problem is still there after I reinstall 10.1B.

Now I get the following error messages after I click on "Preference" from the menu bar.

Going to check the PROPATH.

FIXED!

Progress install is putting C:\Progress\OpenEdge101b\tty at the end of the ProPath. I believe that the \tty is conflicting with \gui.

I simpled removed the \tty entry from
ProPath inside the progress.ini file.

James.

Hmm, still strange.
I never have had any tty references in my windows Propath. Did you also install other products?
Or maybe some installation which wasn't removed properly?
Anyway, nice to have fixed. Search for such things can be very tedious.

Did remember reading something in the release notes of version 10.1A or 10.1B, (I can't remember) that the OpenEdge Install will preserve previous setting and configurations.

For example it remembered all my host server names and passwords for Progress Explorer Tool (that's a first for me).

Also the remote development mode has also started working for the first time.
This time I only installed the OE Studio and not both the "Webspeed Workshop" and "OE Studio".

Thanks for your help Casper.
