Can rebuilding indexes change a records rowid?

It shouldnt. A dump load also changes the rowid or any other table move utility. Are you storing the rowid in sometable to retrieve records later on. If yes then please avoid doing so as u may end up in getting wrong records.
 
No, it shouldn't.

Rebuilding an index does not do anything with the data except to read it. The record's ROWID will not change as a result.
 
Thanks Tom for correcting me I have edited the comments and in this process found some really good articles which has cleared the concept bit more regarding rowid on peg.
