Can Progress DLC backup/restore on different server?

Hi,

I am working on DR and need to move all Progress Installation from one machine to another. We are running AIX 5.2. I am wondering if I can backup all Progress DLC directories using AIX native commands (backup/restore) and restore it on a different server...or do I have to re-install the base + patch up the Progress to the same level as on my production server?

Hi,

It is possible to backup & restore the Progress $DLC directory to another server . Conditions are

1) The DR OS should be same (AIX )
2) The directory structure in DR server has to be same as
the production BOX.
Even if is different you may still be execute progress
by exporting the DLC @ the command prompt
mapping to the new path. The reason for exporting
is that progress tailors the DLC varialbe during the setup.
