Hi, Folks!
We have a big need to define lots of BOMs not too complex fortunately, plus export them for corporate software development and later import them for handling web customer orders. We are using customized Symix 4.1 CHUI on Progress 9 / Solaris 9. Up to now we have been scheduling by list value of products and by estimated capacity of production lines, and keeping
material inventory largely on paper.
Does anyone have any history on using XML for BOM generation, importing to and exporting from Symix?
I am interested in
1 - XMLSpy for possibly creating BOM's,
2 - how to import and export BOMs in XML with Progress 9 without
the learning curve for XML development.
At this point our Symix is standard 4.1 as far as BOM's are concerned,
and we do have Symix source code.
Does anyone out there have some good references or products to help do these things without lots of time learning? I am only a one-person software guru at a small company, with a tight budget for consultants already allocated.
Thanks!
