The "showcfg" command will list the installed licenses. That would go a long ways towards telling you if you can do this with what you already have.

But... try starting a session with the -rx parameter. That may be sufficient.

10.1B supports the SQL92 engine. So you *could* also start an ODBC session and use SQL to extract the data...

Or you could hire a consultant to take care of all of these annoying details.

You should be able to start the db with an SQL broker and then pull the data out. I would recommend looking over the OpenEdge / Progress knowledge base. there are multiple entries for people trying to do this.

If your database came from a vendor as part of a software package they provided, it is possible there are scripts on your server that will export the data. Might try looking around in the product's directories.
