thanks for the quick reply. the restore completed in 03:42:30 for 1287780 db blocks (blocksize is 8192). restoring from disk (production full backup) to disk (test db) on the same machine. Solaris 9 on Sun E420R Progress 9.1E02 MFG/PRO eB SP1 btw, also noticed that the backup now runs for...- ekimpay
