What updates sales-jrnl.sale-amt & sales-jrnl.hom-sale-amt

We are using MXP 7.4 and a user has brought up that when they run the report
AR 5 9 Sales Report, there are two columns that are always zero - Sale Amt
and Home Sale. I have tracked these to the sales-jrnl.sale-amt and
sales-jrnl.hom-sale-amt fields but cannot find the programs that update
them. Does anyone else have this problem? Are these unused fields?

The field can also be seen in AR 6 10 Sales Journal Inquiry by zooming to
full record. It shows as Sale: in the first field second row.

Hi Patti,

The sales-jrnl.sales-amt field is updated in a number of programs
(ar/salepst4, op/directbf, op/invoicee, etc), but only for invoice-lines
where the affected GL Code is identified as being a sales GL account in the
GL File Maintenance function. (Item-shipped --> Product Group --> Sales
GL --> GL-account --> Sales Statistics field or gl-account.keep-sale-st).
This was true with MXP version 6, and I believe it's still the same logic in
7.x.

Hope this helps.

You're right, it's still that way at 7.4. I suspect her problem is the flag on
the GL Code not being set as a sales account. It's a very useful feature for
separating out 'true' sales from things like freight, catalogues, etc. I think
it's also a factor in working out the sales values in the customer performance
inquiries (AR 6 2).

Sale amt and home sale amt are calculated during the invoicing process.
The amount is only accumulated if the gl-account, as determined by the
gl-sale account on the invoice-line, has keep-sale-st set to yes.
