We have two department one that does work in PHP and mySQL and the other one works in progress (oops OpenEdge 10.1B).
We want to share data & logic between these departments.
So the best way we thought was web services.
Now, the issue is of security. I wanted to have your thoughts on how people make there web services secure.
Doing web services does open up the firewall but I am sure there must be ways in which one can make it secure.
To phrase the question again:
what steps must be taken to make the web services safe?
