Dumping and loading of databases for migration from one platform to another is very time consuming and typically not possible without significant downtime. Having a utility in PROGRESS would greatly assist with a cross platform migration. In this case we would like to move from SCO Unix (OpenSever) 32-bit on Intel to RedHat Linux 64-bit on Intel. It could even be built into the conv910 or conv101. You are correct that the conversion tools we have are not cross platform cabable and is why the dump and load is required. Having a tool that would assist with a cross platform migration would be an excellent enhancement request. Please log it. ( I have attached the article on how to log one to the case.) I also realize the dump would be done on SCO and in 9.1E which would not be using the improved utilities and understand could be very time consuming.
