We have a problem with our odbc connection to a progress database. This connection is a multidatabase connection where 2 databases our frequently queried by 2 wcf services, who are in turn activated by a dozen console app's and web api's. This worked fine until about one month ago, when we suddenly encountered "the Catalog name ...is an unknown catalog" error, and all processes who require the second database stopped working. This error occurs on certain days, when a lot of queries are happening. Other days, no error is seen.
We tried to change most of our connection strings to single database connection, but the error still occurs; programs using this single database connection still work after error is generated. The only remedy is a reboot of the progress database (with a lot of problems and frustration). What causes this error? Insufficient memmory?? Should we install a second odbc connection? Does anybody has some experience with this? Thanks, tridle
