LOCATION: Toronto
SALARY RANGE: 75k-95k (OPEN)
Job Summary
A software developer - team lead designs, develops and sustains software on UNIX, NT and/or mobile computer system. Responsibilities included project coordination, software design and customer support.
Qualifications
· Engineering or 3 Year Community college diploma in computer design discipline
· Knowledge of computer hardware, software, Wireless communications, metering systems.
· Asset: working knowledge of Intel x86 processors, control systems and PC hardware and metering systems
· Knowledge of C, UNIX and Progress v6.X, 7.X and 8.X and 9.x (Character based), SQL (embedded). Knowledge of Progress transactions, widgets.
· Prior Experience in the design of computer systems
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· An ability to co-ordinate across corporate functions are essential
· Experience with revision control systems like SCCS or Visual SourceSafe
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
· Lead a group of s/w developers for core product
· Design and coding of real time, multi-threaded, database application software
· Integration of 3rd party products
· Responding to customer problems including communicating action plans to in-house personnel
· Addressing Quality issues
· Version Control
· Producing Requirement, Functional and Design Specifications
· Field Trial Plans
· Producing PCN and ECNs, and release management
· Producing Manuals (User and Installation)
· In-house training programs
· Co-ordination of in-house services and external contractors
· Other duties as assigned from time to time
