Tugboat Software is a Progress Software Inc. Cardinal Partner providing
innovative team management solutions that streamline the utilization of
human resources. Customers come to us looking for solutions for either
managing software development or automating workforce scheduling.
Position: Software Application Developer
Location: Newport Beach CA
Status: 32 hours to full time employee
Working with a small, very efficient team, developer will assist in all
aspects of the development life cycle for a custom workforce-scheduling
software application including, programing, deploying, maintaining and
providing customer support.
Applicant must have strong programming skills. A background in the
Progress Software development environment including Smart Objects,
Version 9. WebSpeed and Roundtable TSMS is a big plus. Experience with
..NET also desirable.
The successful applicant must exhibit the following traits:
* Strong powers of concentration.
* The ability to focus on details and follow through to completion.
* Appetite for permutations.
* Customer-Service sensitive, with the ability to create and
maintain positive customer relationships and consistently
maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
* Flexibility with the ability to multi-task while remaining
well organized.
* Realistic expectations about salary and benefits.
* Able to make a long term commitment.
All candidates for this position must have the following skills
and/or requirements:
* BS in computer science, or equivalent experience.
* 2 years minimum application development experience in
a professional environment
* Database Design skills
* Object Oriented Design skills
* Experience with team development and shared repository concepts
* Strong communication skills within a team environment
* Ability to grasp complex requirements and specifications,
then break them down for the purpose of implementation
* Ability to effectively and efficiently manage and prioritize
one's own tasks
* Ability to write clean, efficient code
