Size of db during Progress upgrade

I have a customer using MXP 7.3 (will upgrade to 7.4) using HP Unix (not
sure of the version and Progress 7.3D. They will be upgrading to
Progress 8.3B. During an earlier conversion from version 6 to 7, there
were some problems with hard disk space available during the conv67 due
to the size of the dbs. Has anyone run into an issue with a Progress
upgrade and db convert with MXP?? I have not.
I would appreciate any info.

Jo,

I'm in the midst of doing an upgrade to MXP8.1e from 7.4, using progress
8.3b up from 7.3e. HP-UX 10.20, Progress database is 2.75 GB. No problems
at all with any of the conv78 Progress functions. However - I do recall
somewhere some documentation about MXP 7.4 not being supported on Progress
8.2c. I would presume that would still be the case with 8.3b n'cest pas?
That being the case, you might want to consider taking MXP to 8.1e and
running it in tty mode if you want to keep sort-of-the-same look and feel
of MXP 7.4 Char version.

Jo,

We are at 7.4 and running Progress 8.3B08 on a Compaq Unix platform
without any problems. What space problems specifically did you have?
When I converted from MXP 7.2 to 7.4 there were a couple of hypertools
patches that were needed and some date fixes were added after 7.4 but
should be available from Foresight.
