Hi gtsmb,
Nice to meet you again.
I have some experience for Implementing the MFG/PRO Shopfloor Module in my company.
The module it self is very good i think.
But to implement the shopfloor module there are many parameter that must be define before that.
first of course the item master and second the most important is the Bill of Material (BOM) and Work Center Master these BOM and Work Center Master are consist of many parameter to setup such as Yield, Scrap percentage, runtime, index, the cost (Material, Labor, Burden, Overhead and Subcontract) and so on.
The Difficulties it self not on the system but in define the value of those parameters. Your must put the value
to the closest or exactly situation in you company.
Because once you setup the parameter value is wrong it will be very difficult to fixed. Because MFG/PRO use automatic journaling that connect to GL Module from Shopfloor module, means that any transaction in Shoopfloor will create journal in GL.
so I suggest before you implement the shopfloor module you must identify the Business process in your company especially in Manufacturing Process and Inventory Process then after that you can define BOM, WorkCenter, Index, Runtime and other parameter are required to run Shopfloor module.
and of course with help from MFG/PRO Consultant is very useful for implementing the module. Because the core of MFG/PRO ERP System is in this module i guess.
and also i suggest you to prepare the database tuning for this because I have experience when we are go live with all module runs in MFG/PRO the database grown up became huge and fast. I my company with all module are implemented, the database grown up to 1 GB perMonth. But again it depend on each company.
hope my experience, will give you some idea for implementing shopfloor module in your company. If you have more to find out i will glad to share my experience to you.
Thank you
Regards
