MRG Search & Placement, Inc., a 27 year old IT recruiting company, is
actively searching for a full-time Senior Progress Developer for our client
in Washington, DC.
Company Overview. Our client, a leading player in their industry, has
been around for over 65 years. They are extremely stable (they have never
suffered any downsizing!!) and take great care of providing their employees
opportunities to grow and prosper. The majority of their IT staff have
been there over 7 years.
Job Overview. My client has just purchased a software package that is
written in Progress (version 9) running in an NT environment and are
preparing for the implementation. They will be migrating from a legacy
system written primarily in Cobol. They are seeking an individual to assist
in the implementation, develop new screens and interfaces in Progress, and
mentor the existing IT staff. This person will be the in house Progress
"go to" person.
Job Requirements. 5+ years of Progress development experience including
version 9. Knowledge of SmartObjects a big plus. The qualified candidate
must have experience in large scale projects (9 months + ) and have been
involved with migrations or implementations. Experience being in a mentor
role or training of other IT personnel essential.
Salary. $70 to $85K
Benefits. Competitive package includes tuition reimbursement and relocation
assistance.
