Senior Database Administrator needed at our General Office in Eau Claire, WI. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent work experience
Requirements are: The Senior Database Administrator will assist in the day-to-day administration; support and ongoing enhancement of Menard, Inc’s database infrastructures. Applicants should have experience supporting mission-critical database environments maximizing system uptime and productivity. Preference will be given to those with experience in Progress and/or Informix. Candidates must be able to work in a secure, mission-critical production-computing environment. The position will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day health of the enterprise database systems.
Help lead and train team members in the development and implementation of Menards' information systems. Assists in developing and coordinating project management plans and helps manage the overall execution of these plans on time and within budget. Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems and devices to process data. Prepare system specifications, diagrams, and connectivity charts, and submit recommendations for solutions. Coordinate system installation with user departments and operations, ensuring satisfactory results. Provide advanced-level software support for all related applications and Team Members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
·Minimum 5 years of experience in DBA.
·Excellent object-oriented analysis and design skills
·Excellent performance management skills; interpersonal skills; customer service skills; organizational skills; project management skills and knowledge of project management tools; and verbal and written communication skills.
·Excellent analytical skills for problem determination and resolution.
·Ability to manage multiple priorities.
·Ability to work independently, as well as, cooperate with others.
·Strong proficiency with:
Logical Database Design
Physical Database Design
Structured Query Language
Data Warehousing
Data Dictionary Management
Database Backup & Recovery Strategies
Query Optimization
Performance problem analysis
ERWIN
Following skills are a plus:
Progress DB Experience
