McCamish Systems, LLC, a leading provider of world-class state-of-the-art

insurance, annuities and non-qualified benefit plans is seeking an
experienced Sr. Systems Application analyst.
Position Summary
This position serves as a systems application engineer resource providing
senior level experience in relational database and source code management
with Progress database software. This individual will be highly motivated
and enthusiastic, able to think outside the box within the technology
group, be proactive in monitoring and reporting on the health of the
systems and applications and be a "thought leader" within the organization.
Technical abilities and experiences are key to this position.
Education/Experience Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
* Minimum 5 years relational database administration experience required
* Strong ability to trouble shoot and resolve application level errors
* Strong ability to prioritize and delegate tasks
* Experience performance tuning, monitoring, and setting up multiple
databases
* Knowledge of software development methodologies and life cycle
* Knowledge of software configuration management methods and source
code management tools
* Progress experience extremely helpful
* UNIX AIX Basic Administration skills a plus
* Knowledge of Windows NT and 2000 a plus
* Experience working in a team-oriented environment
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Trouble shooting and limited software performance debugging
* Monitoring of systems to ensure adequate resources (disk/memory)
are available
* Development and maintaining scripts for automation of system
administration and operations functions
* Assisting with installation and trouble shooting activities during
software releases
* Providing on-call support for nightly batch operations for both
internal and external client systems
* Providing on-call or on-site after hours support to assist with
internal development efforts as well as external client testing
and operations activities
* Ensuring associate PC stations are set up with the proper network
paths and icons required to access various regions for purposes of
developing, supporting, or administering the various environments
* Leading with the development and maintenance of system documentation
* Software project implementation
