record count - limited view?

Looking to see if there is a way to disable anyone from viewing the expanded view while doing an inquiry lookup in ARIC. Currently, if a user enters 0 as their search criteria, it will list all the records. This is something that I would like to lock down if at all possible ... and prevent the possibility of data theft.

Went through the help drop down and the only thing that seems to come close as far as what I want to do is the "record count". Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not without modification, unfortunately. This is one of those things that we've griped about with the system--it assumes security should be done by job function, and leaves the data within that job function wide open. Currently all of our users have access to APIV (vendor lookup); most people fortunately don't realize that you can look up the expense report detail of anyone that files one, since we setup those employees as vendors.

There's a slow push towards regionality and grouping (finally) in v5.5 and onward, so maybe we'll see this in the future (especially if we complain loudly enough). For a more immediate solution, you could request a modification of the ARIC criteria screen to now return any records if no criteria is entered (instead of returning *everything*).
