Clarifying Information Qualys Corporate Vulnerability Scan is being run against the database. Port scanner is scanning the database listener port. Clients are not being disconnected. Database is not being abnormally shut down. Error in log repeats multiple times. Error Message [2015/11/05@14:13:19.541-0800] P-16581370 T-1 I SRV 37: (1280) Connection timed out on socket=613 for usernum 2, attempt disconnect. Defect/Enhancement Number Cause This is expected behavior. The erorr message in the database log file is due to the port scanner, which normally makes a connection to the listening port of the database. After some time the port scanner gets disconnected from the listening port of the database. As a result of the port scanner disconnect the message is written to the database log file. This does not have any impact on the actual client connection and in this case only signifies that the port scanner has disconnected.
