Progress Sample Code

First you might have a look into the Progress Installation in the %DLC%\src\samples directory. AFAIK in Progress V9 this gets installed automatically with the installation of a developer license. In more recent OpenEdge version you need to install it manually from the seperate documentation and samples media.

Second you might have a look into the PSDN ( psdn.progress.com ).

There are lots of other resources like oehive.org and so on.

Others may add to the list ...

One might also note that a lot of sample code out there, e.g., that in the Progress documentation is not an example of best practice. Be skeptical!

Thomas you are completly right!

IMHO, samples provided by Progress are made by those who introduced the functionality into the product. Soooo, neither are the best practice, nor are they real life examples.

In my opinion, whenever somebody asked me after I had answered a question, "Where exactly can I read about this particular solution in the documentation & samples?" - I answered something like "it's like driving a car, whatever regulations you need to obey, you are still the driver and you must take responsability and make you own decision ..."
