Atlanta based EarthLink, Inc. is growing again and is now seeking
5 experienced Progress developers to join the Customer Financial
Systems Department in MIS. EarthLink is a leading internet service

Job Profile:
* Participate in the development, testing, and implementation of
Progress projects in character mode Progress version 9.1 and UNIX.
* Research and recommend alternatives or enhancements to existing
systems and/or develop new systems.
* Produce in-depth specification documents, charts, tables and logic
diagrams where needed.
* Constantly develop in-depth knowledge of business functions, systems
and technology in order to be a consulting resource to both clients
and IS team members.
* Respond to questions, requests for information and assistance from
external groups
* Co-ordinate project efforts with external groups wherever needed
and ensure communication across all levels
Required Qualifications:
* Proven 3+ years experience in character mode Progress development.
Experience in version 8 and above would be a plus.
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering
or IS or equivalent.
* UNIX and Windows operating systems knowledge
* Excellent communication skills
* Quick learning ability and strong attention to detail.
* Excellent analytical skills with ability to define and resolve problems.
* Strong understanding of software architectures, software
lifecycle methodology, and information system development.
* Ability to stay cool under pressure and set right expectations
/meet deadlines
Other considerations/Preferences:
* Progress Webspeed and HTML development skills would be helpful.
* Experience with Telecom, ISP, finance, billing systems, and
accounts receivables a plus.
* Experience with UNIX would be helpful.
