Progress Developer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Analysis, Design, Specification, Development and Testing of code to defined deadlines and exacting standards.
• Produce Design and Technical Specifications as needed for technical documentation.
• Provide support and assistance to other departments as required.
• Work closely with business partners to produce quality products that meet business needs.
• Use collaborative skills to work with database administrators, system managers and business partners in order to ensure reliability, availability, and performance of applications.
• Use analytical skills to troubleshoot and maintain applications as needed.
• Use communication skills to work with end users in analyzing their requirements.
• Use analytical skills to learn our business processes document the data and process models and troubleshoot and maintain existing applications.
We are looking for an individual with strong expertise in the following required core competencies:
• 5+ Years Progress 4GL experience.
• Previous experience with Progress version 8 or above required. Familiarity with both GUI and character clients is essential.
• IBM WebSphere Application Server and Development tools (i.e. WSAD)
• Oracle 9i, SQL and PL/SQL stored procedures
Position requires a BS degree in Computer Technology, Informatics, Computer Sciences, Engineering or Business.
Candidate must have 5 or more years of Progress database programming experience.
All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
