Quality Bicycle Products (QBP), an international distributor of bicycle
parts and accessories located in the Minneapolis suburb of Bloomington, MN,
is in search of an experienced Progress Developer.
Job responsibilities include:
* Program in the Progress 4GL language
* Develop custom Progress 4GL business applications
* Support, maintain, service and enhance QBP's existing custom code
* Write custom database reports and help staff use report generators
efficiently
* Progress character programming, Progress GUI programming, and
Progress Webspeed programming
* Work closely with non-computer-technical users when designing and
implementing new software or reports
* Other duties as assigned
Qualifications include:
* Primary Skills:
() At least 3 years of Progress 4GL experience
* Necessary Secondary Skills:
() Proficient Unix user
() Relational Database design experience
() Solid understanding of common business practices
* Recommended Tertiary Skills:
() Experience with NxTrend products
() Unix administration/configuration
* Non Technical Skills:
() Thoughtful problem analysis
() Ability to work on multiple projects at once
() Provide excellent internal customer service
to others in the company
() Eagerness to be a problem solver
() Gains personal satisfaction from helping others
() Excellent written and verbal communication skills
() Knowledge of standard business practices helpful
* Candidate must be willing to submit to a criminal background check.
