EarthLink, Inc., one of the leading ISPs is currently seeking a Progress
Developer for our Financial Systems Department in Atlanta, GA.
The ideal candidate will have 3 or more years of Progress database
application development experience. They will participate in the
development, testing, and implementation of Superfly projects. Qualified
candidates will research and recommend alternatives for enhancements to
existing systems and/or development of new systems. Additional
responsibilities include the production of in-depth specification
documents, charts, tables and logic diagrams where needed. The ideal
candidate will constantly develop in-depth knowledge of business
functions, systems and technology in order to be a consulting resource
to both clients and IS team members. In addition to these
responsibilities, they will respond to questions, requests for
information and assistance.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to define and resolve
problems.
* Strong understanding of software architectures, software lifecycle
methodology, and information system development.
* Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
* 3+ years of Progress 4GL Application Development.
* Progress Character, Webspeed, and HTML development skills would be
helpful.
* Experience with finance, billing systems, and accounts receivables a
plus.
* Experience with UNIX would be helpful.
