Ok, it is possible to make some schema changes. Consider this scenario: A 24/7 business and I have to assure my business rules wasn't changed. If the database is running in multiple user mode, DDL operations like ALTER TABLE ADD PRIMARY KEY, DROP TABLE, etc fails with "Failure to acquire exclusive schema lock for DDL operation. (7872)" error.
