That's the interesting thing. PARENT-ID-RELATION is a new feature, i believe (11.3+ i think?). Just found this article: knowledgebase.progress.com/.../parent-id-relation-uses-recid-instead-of-rowid So it seems that it's possible it will be changed to accept ROWID in the future and that there isn't a specific reason it uses RECID at the moment.
