PASOE (Progress Application Server for OE) is an Apache Tomcat web server that has Spring Security extensions for the OE/ABL/AVM sessions that serve ABL. That’s basically it: it does not impose state (you choose, for ABL clients, whether you want to use it or not). If you want your user accounts on a different system then it’s quite simple to use those. We (PSC) provide the plumbing to validate credentials on (say) LDAP and pass a token to the ABL session. We don’t require you to use anything. You can also continue to use your extant (“classic” ) WebSpeed code in PASOE, if you choose.
