A little bit more description as to what are you plan on running there configuration wise and number of users/database size wise would be good. Since you mentioned 2 versions of OE, I am going to assume client server would be involved here, in this case make sure your NIC adapter is not E1000, but vmxnet3. Proper CPU and memory allocation goes without saying, but again not knowing what do you plan on running there, hard to say. Also 'standalone host' - what's going to happen when this server 'catches fire'? What I am trying to ask - what is your HA/DR solution. To answer your original question - I am aware of customers running the above config with a good performance
