I don't get the SYSTEM ERROR on AIX or other platforms, but -diagDir is not getting set when in .pf file. As you saw from the msg in .lg file. It is also not set in _dbParams VST. Looks like the problem occurs for both -diagPrefix and -diagDir Your work-around, not using a .pf file, appears to work OK. The msgs in .lg file on startup are then correct, and the entries in _dbParams VST are also correct. The problem is consistent across platforms. I will get a bug in shortly on this. Ken Meehan
