A lot depends on how you are building the client side. In our Angular 2/4 client (built around the JSDO and Kendo UI for Angular) we expect the backend to send CCSBE01 compliant error and validation messages: https://github.com/progress/CCS/blob/master/Specs/BusinessEntity/v1_0/CCSSpec-BE1_0.pdf (page 20 ff) This describes a JSON Array used as the ERROR-STRING’s value. The frontend then calls into a backend to retrieve localized message strings. Alternatively, this localized message strings can be present on the client already in resource files.
