Lieven, maybe something like Xtend ( Xtend - Wikipedia ) could be an option to add some of that syntactic sugar and more. This could make the syntax less verbose, add some better defaults (no-undo) and type inference among other things but it will compile an extra pre-compile (code generation) step… this could work just fine in Eclipe (PSDOE) environment though.
