I'm sure there are plenty of other, better suggestions, Kris Murphy , but the one thing that really bugs me in terms of getting started is the need for a new developer to have to create a database. Yes, there's the sports2000 database, but they still have to load a proenv and do a prodb/procopy or whatever. And sports2000 does not adhere to best practise in terms of its structure as well. So, please could the install of the Classroom edition at least, come with a sports2000 database that is correctly structured (Type II storage, split into Data/Index areas, not by business function, with nothing in the schema area - all tables need an index), and then a script that can be run by double clicking on an icon that will set up a database in $DLC, along with a start/stop server script, and/or auto-configuring of settings in PDSOE. A developer shouldn't have to worry about the database structure, so why should he/she when getting started?
