Thanks for your thoughts Simon. Your reasoning makes a lot of sense so I tried to reopen the original issue in order to have it looked into again. However supportlink appears to be in the process of being updated and I can't reopen now: Error: Error occurred while loading a Visualforce page. I'll try again in a couple of days .
