The OpenEdge adapter with SonicMQ supports fault tolerance and high availability features. The Generic JMS adapter does not. In order to use the Generic JMS adapter with mission critical applications these features are needed. We are currently looking to replace our mission critical messaging middle ware with IBM MQ. Our OpenEdge applications are key to our organization and without at the very least some basic fault tolerance doing so would put our mission critical applications at risk. Implement fault tolerance in the same or similar manner to SonicMQ. If not entirely possible at least explore what is possible and implement a solution so that this can be depended upon in a mission critical manner. We use SonicMQ for our mission critical messaging oriented middleware infrastructure and as it stands the generic JMS adapter isn't suited for such a use case. While it's documented that none of the SonicMQ fault tolerance methods are supported by your generic JMS adapter - There is absolutely no fault tolerance built in whatsoever for your generic JMS adapter. This is going to further delay our SonicMQ replacement project. If an OE Adapter gets disconnected it has no build in ability to even try to reconnect. If we have an issue that causes a disconnect (such as a failover to a backup broker) our whole system will go offline.
