Progress 9.1c UNIX memory issues

I'm posting this here and in the Database Administration section. I'm not sure which is more appropriate.

Recently, we have encountered the following errors on some of our batch processes that are running on our UNIX db server:

** There is not enough memory to allocate a sort buffer. (538)
** stget: out of storage; the current -hs value is 2000. Try a larger number (1129)

We believe these to be memory errors. We are running HP-UX, version 11.0. We have tried to increase the -hs value to 3000, but recently found out that according to the Progress Knowledge base, this parameter is no longer supported in version 9.1x.

Have any of you encountered this before? If so, what was the resolution? Any and all help is appreciated.

I haven't seen that before.

That may be because 9.1C was a mayfly release that just about everyone upgraded almost immediately.

You should upgrade to, at least, 9.1E04 which is the final release in the version 9 family (and already quite old). Better yet, of course, would be to get current and upgrade to 10.1B.
