Progress 9.1C to Progress 9.1E

Hello,
I change System of our customer from Progress 9.1C to Progress 9.1E.
It is necessary to install the version 9.1E or could it be enough to copy some files (which) in the directory dlc? This would be more easier for me (and the customers).

Why would that be easier?
The databases and Progress processes have to be stopped either way.....

But to answer your question: You need to install 9.1E.

BTW more changes are made to Progres then 'some files'. Third party tools also have changed. (Java, SQL drivers, libraries and so on).
