Northern Virginia - Fairfax: Progress 4GL/Webspeed Programmer/Analyst
Integrated Data Corporation (IDC) is seeking an additional Progress
Programmer/Analyst to add to an existing development team on an on-going
government project. This project is largely developed in WebSpeed with
some GUI and ChUI support.
We would prefer to offer the positions to full a time employee (W2) but
will consider a sub-contractor (paid via 1099).
This is for on-site work in Fairfax, Virginia.
U.S. citizens only. No headhunters or recruiters.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
* Analysis, Design, Specification, Development and Testing of 4GL
code to defined deadlines and exacting standards.
* Produce design and/or functional specifications as needed for
technical documentation.
* Provide support and assistance to other departments as required.
* Knowledge Transfer and Training sessions to other developers.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
* Three plus years experience in programming and analysis.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Required Skills:
* Progress 4GL programming knowledge.
* Previous development in a UNIX environment.
Experience with any of the following is desired but not required:
* Progress programming against an Oracle Data Server.
* Webspeed programming.
* Progress DBA experience.
* JAVA programming experience.
* Experience with travel systems, CTOs, and GDSs.
* Prior experience developing travel related software.
ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS
* High level of organization and strong attention to detail.
* Must have ability to consistently meet deadlines, demonstrate
strong follow through, and to follow departmental and company
procedures.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
* Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and
memos.
* Strong verbal/written skills.
* Good punctuation, spelling, grammar and attention to detail a must.
* Good interpersonal skills essential.
REASONING ABILITY
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instructions and policies furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills are essential.
