Progress Programmer Analyst (Applications)
Bay Travelgear, Inc. is a leading supplier of soft-sided convenience
solutions for travel, business, leisure and recreational uses. It is
the parent company for 2 great product brands: Monarch Luggage, an
industry leader for over 50 years in luggage, sport duffels and
business cases, and Arctic Zone, the leading marketer of soft-sided
coolers and lunch kits. Products include luggage, sport duffels,
soft-sided coolers & lunch kits, business cases and storage items.
Customers include most major retailers in the United States and Canada.
We currently have an opening for a "Programmer Analyst (Applications)"
with solid experience in Progress 4GL programming language to join our
team in Scottsdale Arizona to work on medium to large application
development projects.
The selected individual will use his/her knowledge of business and
technical 'best practices' to implement cost effective solutions to
business issues. He/She will work closely with the user community
in the design and implementation of approved projects.
Tasks will include maintaining existing software including the company's
current ERP package and interfacing between that package and other
software solutions and existing reporting. Other responsibilities
include the development of program specifications to address existing
business issues, which may be used externally by other programming
resources, or internally to direct the individual's development process.
Works with IT management and the user community to develop an
understanding of current business processes and requirements.
The selected individual should be degreed (bachelor's degree in business
or technology) and have exceptional technical skills, specifically in
application development. Good analytical and computer skills are a must.
Experience with Cognos PowerPlay would be considered a definite plus.
