The Webspeed broker unable to start :-(

Perhaps you ought to consider having a support contract with someone?

As I recall -- the last time you had an issue like this we spent a few days dragging the details out of you and it ultimately turned out that the host name was wrong.

I seem to recall that it ended up that it was spelled differently in /etc/hosts

The parent of [UBroker.WS.mfgprod] is [UBroker.WS] - any property which is not provided by the child will use the property of the parent.

The parent of [UBroker.WS] is [UBroker] - from a 9.1D ubroker.properties I happen to have lying around:

Agreed. Even a single AppServer or WebSpeed instance should use a discrete non-default server port range. Because today's one-and-only broker may well be tomorrow's one-of-many broker. It's simple and it's a best practice. Knowing that, there's no good reason not to do it.
