Problem with DBMan after upgrading to Openedge

Hi,

We have come across this problem after upgrading from V9.1E to Openedge.

After performing the upgrade and attempting to start a local database using dbman -start in the Openedge PROENV, we get an error message :

ERROR: Unable to locate database plugin - insure AdminServer is running and is properly configured (DBMan023)

The user has uninstalled v9.1E Progress but the error still remains.

Has anyone else come across this issue?

You didn't specify OS but I guess you use Windows. If it's so I suppose there's a problem with AdminService. You should open 'Services' applet in 'Administrative tools', check status of 'AdminService for OpenEdge 10.0B' service and then you have to restart it. I guess when you had both versions of PROGRESS the last installed one couldn't run AdminService properly since it tried to use the same TCP/IP port 20931.
