Probkup fails

Hi there,

We are running an Openedge 10.1b database on WIndows Server 2000.
We have a script which runs a pro backup every night. Since adding 20 gig worth of extents the database has not completed a successful backup. The backup fails after a few minutes with the error 1617 - Backup failed due to errors.
Can anyone advise why this could be? There is sufficient disk space 100 gig for a 70 gig backup.

As far as I know the error 1617 just indicates that the backup failed due to some error that happened just before. You should look into the database log file whether there are additional error messages that could shed some light on the issue.

If you search in the knowledge base for error 1617 it will return a lot of solutions.
