How does QAD compile pricing. In the Pi_mstr we have a list of customers that have there own price code which goes with a group of products for special pricing. Each customer can have special pricing on some items and general pricing other items. This code for their special pricing is placed within the Customer master file.

I am trying to figure out how QAD knows that if a item isn't on the customer pricing file that it knows how to pull the correct price. I have heard that our system is set up to find the best price for the customer. I have tested it and even if the customer doesn't have the item in his customer pricing table it has some accoicated link that allows it to pull in the correct price I think. I have tested putting a few and it seems to work but I am not convinced it is working all the time.

We have MFG/QAD 83C with progress of 9.0
 
In a custom program, to calculate price - - for example on a future shipment . . . .

Look at any qad program/report that calls gppccal.p, such as sosoisd.p.

Just call that function with the same information (part, pricelist, u/m, currency, etc. etc.) and you will get the correct price for that part, customer, date,etc.
