Pointless Replication Question

Just a quickie because I can't test it myself right now...
Is it theoretically possible to set up Replication to replicate to localhost? Obviously you wouldn't for DR purposes, but is it possible to do it?

I'm pretty sure I've done this in the past for testing. Apart from testing, another use case would be creating a reporting DB.

Yes. I do a lot of replication testing within the bounds of a single host. (It's easier.)

Interesting and not pointless at all.

I've been pondering the idea of 2 servers running 2 different databases live and then replicating to each other for DR.
