Symix 4.0R9
Progress 7.3E
Here's an interesting scenario: Inventory personnel print the Job Pick List
in order to determine what parts need to be physically pulled off the shelf
and moved to production. The pick list says pull 2 of part XYZ. When the
job pull is complete, and the changes are posted, the quantity on-hand
should be depleted by the number of parts pulled (except in the case of
shortages). The "Global" post should take every material required to
complete a job, and subtract the quantity needed from the quantity on hand.
Here's the problem: One of my users was verifying numbers before the job
was closed, and found that the "global" did not post every material. There
were about 5 out of 115 parts which had been physically pulled, but had
never been posted (the 'qty issued' on a job operation status report was 0).
Is it possible for the "global" just missed these items ?! Has anyone seen
anything like this before ? Any help is appreciated! Thanks !
