Question Openedge 10.2b Odbc Driver Compatibility In 11.6

Hi All,

We are planning an upgrade to OpenEdge 11.6.3 shortly and have a lot of ODBC connections currently in use. In order for a smoother upgrade and an easier back out does anyone know of any limitations that the 10.2B ODBC driver has when connecting to OE11?

We have done some initial testing and it seems to work well. But from my knowledge this isnt supported by Progress.

Any info would be great.

Why not just install the latest ODBC drivers as part of the upgrade?

Since the inception of ODBC, critics have argued about version issues and testing. On the bright side, if you are only reading data using ODBC, any bugs created by version incompatibility will probably be less obscure. Simplest shortcut is likely the above answer (use the latest version of an ODBC driver)

We did the same upgrade a month ago. Initially we used the 10.2B ODBC drivers w.o. problems. We upgraded the drivers after a little while and everything went fine.
