Job Title: Network System Administrator
Location: Information Technology Dept./Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Status: Full - Time / Salary
Reports to: Director, Business Services/IT

Job Summary:
Seeking a Network Administrator / Progress Programmer with strong skills
in planning and managing multiple technology projects in an environment
that has four physical locations. Position is based in Milwaukee, WI
with requirement to travel when needed.

To provide technical and administrative support for operating systems
and application software, to maximize efficiency of the network and users
utilization of them.

Job Duties:

Essential Functions:
* Maintain software licensing compliance (Progress WDS Application)
* Responsible for backup and recovery strategies, for IT system and
voice and data
* Provide computer/network support relating to software and hardware
problems reported by users.
* Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating system and
application software being used to provide high levels of support
to users.
* Monitor and evaluate efficiency of software/hardware usage,
providing items to be covered in training of users, making them
more efficient.
* Install new software applications or hardware on the system,
coordinating assistance from third parties when necessary.
* Add and maintain users on the network; assigning application
access, ensuring security, and maintaining their configurations
are within standards.
* Configure & Install workstations and printers, for compatibility
onto the NT, UNIX and VAX platforms .
* Participate in Team meetings, providing input and suggestions.
* Assist in gathering bid prices on equipment and supplies as needed.
* Report on upcoming needs of network, which would require purchase
of additional hardware or software. Purchase and maintain all
hardware and laptop equipment.
* Utilize technology to provide staff with a fast, accurate, and
secure method of gaining access to information so they can service
customers in the fastest and most efficient manner possible.
* Monitor load balance on servers and make recommendations accordingly.
* Manage, program and oversee phone system.

Accountability:
* Maintain seamless operation of the IT systems to include hardware
and software.

Job Specifications:
* Candidate will be expected to have considerable knowledge and
background in system hardware and product knowledge relative to
UNIX, VAX and NT applications.
* Act as a consultant and driver for the effective and smooth
operation of any and all hardware, systems and communication
equipment.

Education / Experience:
* Associate's degree / 2 years experience in a Client/Server environment
* Knowledge of Windows 2000 Server
* Knowledge of Exchange 2000
* Experience in WDS Progress Application
* Progress Programming experience
